DEFINITION OF MENTORSHIP
Mentoring is the act of having someone teach and lead you in a chosen career or profession, the mentor is has gathered years of experience, he/she as tasted failure and success, the mentor guild and impact his knowledge to the mentee.
DEFINISION OF SALES
Sales is a profession where your hard work, strategic thinking, thorough preparation and perpetual action, literally pays off. It’s fun and at times frustrating, challenging, lucrative and rewarding work.
ROLE OF A MENTOR
A mentor may share with a mentee information about his or her own career path, as well as provide guidance, motivation, emotional support, and role modeling. A mentor may help with exploring careers, setting goals, developing contacts, and identifying resources.
MENTORSHIP IN SALES
As sales definitions implies, its a profession that has to do with planning, determination etc. to survive in it. Basically people always make the notion that everybody can sell; truly everybody can sell, but how well can they sell, how well can they manage and sell professionally without the basic knowledge and psychology of selling.
Mentorship allows the younger sale reps to harness their potentials, hone their skills provide guidance, motivation, emotional support, and role modeling and eventually work their way into leadership roles at your company.
